Ribbons & Bows Program

As a Ribbons & Bows volunteer, you provide the finishing touches on a wish. Finishing touches can be anything from a goody bag for the airplane to the last accessories for a bedroom redecoration. You indicate what financial commitment you want to make (range: $50 to $500) and buy the items that fit your price range once you are paired with a wish child. Examples

Hawaiian adventure wish pack: For our teenagers who wish to visit Hawaii, you can provide a backpack of goodies for them to use on their travels. Goodies include: travel satchel, beach towel, sunglasses, reading material, iTunes gift card, leis, memory card for digital camera, neck pillow, etc.
Suggested value: $50 - $65

Bon voyage party for Disney princess: Many children wish to go to Disneyland® or Disney World® and they are sent off in style at their favorite restaurant and given a few goodies for their trip. A gift card to help cover the meal and Disney themed party favors and decorations for the dinner table would round out the Disney adventure package.

Computer wish package: Sara, who is 13, has wished to receive a pink laptop and we always include everything a child will need with their computer. You can help finish up her package by providing a pink laptop case for a 13" computer, pink mouse, pink printer (if possible) and antivirus.

Limo for shopping spree: Seventeen-year-old Carmen has a very special shopping day planned where she will have a wad of cash to spend at her favorite stores! In order to help her feel extra special throughout her entire spree, you can provide her with a limo to take her around in style.

Accessories for Room Redecoration: Jake knew immediately when Make-A-Wish volunteers visited him that he wanted his bedroom redone. You can join the fun and put the final pieces together for his cool new pad. We need a blue director's chair, iPod stereo, 20" TV and three ottomans.
