Wish Letters, Quotes, and Accolades

A year ago I was diagnosed with cancer, for the second time. I also lost my vision at the same time because the tumor was in my skull and impacted my optic nerve. After nine months of disgusting chemotherapy Make-A-Wish sent me and my family on a relaxing trip to Disneyworld so that I could be a DJ at Radio Disney.

The trip was a blast, and being on the radio was a fun treat. I will remember dashing down the Summit Plummet at Blizzard Beach, rolling through the Rockin’ Roller Coaster at MGM Studios, and especially hanging around a radio station I had listened to since I was four years old. Our guide, Michelle, was a wonderful addition and really made the trip extra special.

It was a fun treat to get away from all the fuss in the hospital and spend time somewhere nice, warm, and relaxing. After a year of being split up by hospitalizations, it was healing to be together as a family. The whole trip was very memorable and really great. Thanks a million.

Letter from 10-year-old Zachary
Wish: to be a Radio Disney DJ

We cannot describe what a gift it was to just do something fun in the midst of the deepest, darkest time in our lives. It was something that we could have never pulled off or could we have even thought of paying for it. We’ll remember the trip for a long time, but more than that, we will remember the kindness and love that Disney and Make-A-Wish showed us throughout the whole experience.
